Lazaro Campos, former chief executive of Swift, has become chairman of OpenTrade, the London-based company that provides stablecoin yield infrastructure, CoinDesk reported on October 29, 2026.
OpenTrade, founded in 2023, supplies the infrastructure that lets fintechs, exchanges and digital wallets offer users dollar- and euro-denominated returns backed by real-world assets without building their own investment systems. According to its website, the company manages the financial, legal and operational side, and clients connect by API or through on-chain vaults.
The company reports $300 million in total value locked, up from more than $200 million in May 2026, and more than $1 billion in transaction volume over the past 12 months, up from $250 million reported in May.
In May 2026, OpenTrade raised $17 million in a round led by Mercury Fund and Notion Capital, with a16z crypto, AlbionVC and CMCC Global participating. That brought total funds raised to $32 million.
Campos ran Swift, the financial messaging network connecting more than 11,000 institutions. He has served on the Bank of England’s RTGS and CHAPS boards and on the board of digital bank Starling, and he chairs Payoneer Europe.
“I’ve spent most of my career on the infrastructure the world uses to move money,” Campos said.
